Artwork Statement 作品簡介 

“A Holiday on Third Street” is to capture the journey of wandering around in Sai Ying Pun on a holiday afternoon. Beyond interpreting the image, I am interested in portraying the landscape in a personal way, revealing the intimate dialogue with the city, I aim to express its distinctive essence. This painting render with rich and vibrant colours that capture the refreshing holiday mood and lively energy. 

「第三街的假日」記錄在假日下午在西營盤行走的一段旅程。在詮譯風景之餘，我更喜歡以個人方式闡述我與城市之間的緊密交流，展現當中的獨有精髓。作品以強烈及活潑的色彩呈現令人煥然一新的假期活力。 

About Artist 關於藝術家 

Hermia Wong graduated with a Bachelor of Arts from RMIT University in 2021. She’s a Hong Kong based artist specializing in paintings. Her artworks render with rich colours that capture the essence of the images. To Hermia “Painting is a subjective way of seeing to create a space for the dialogue. From my perspective and imagination, painting is my expression of emotion and it is a choice of interpretation, composition and colours. Through my personal observation, I explore the aesthetics of subtle reflection of reality.”  

Hermia’ works have been exhibited extensively in Hong Kong and Asia in several galleries and art fairs. Hermia’s artworks are collected by various overseas and local collectors including legendary film director.
